Ligustrum microcarpum is a species of Ligustrum (privet), endemic to Taiwan, where it is confined to high altitudes of over 2,400 m.[1] It is treated as a synonym of the Mainland Chinese Ligustrum sinense in the Flora of China and the Flora of Taiwan.[2][3]
Under the name L. sinense, Taiwanese plants are described by the Flora of Taiwan as a shrub or small tree growing to 7 m tall. The leaves are 3.5–8 cm long and 1.5–3 cm broad, thin textured, with an obtuse apex and an entire margin. The flowers are white, with four corolla lobes 2 mm long, produced in panicles 7–10 cm long; the fruit is globose, 6 mm diameter.[3][4]
